ちょうど1年前、去年の5月ごろの話。出張で札幌のコンベンションセンターに3日間も缶詰になっていたのだった。札幌祭りの前にあるという、やたら寒い3日間だった。小雪までちらつく東京の2月のような天気。
3日間仕事で、そのまま帰るのはあまりにももったいない。最後の土日を個人旅行に使うことにした。
Sapporo. The capital city of Hokkaido. It was May 2015 I went there to attend a business convention.
After three days of the event. I traveled around Sapporo.
休みになると見事に晴れて、だだっぴろい札幌を存分に眺める。前日にうまいものは食べているので、すこし鉄道を使ってみることにした。

函館本線。小樽までは電車だった。日本海沿線にさしかかると、にわかに曇ってくるので面白い。イメージ通りの日本海。
小樽に降り立ってみたがあまり心惹かれなかったので、そのまま進むことにする。ここからは気動車、またキハ40系だ。東北も北海道も40系ばかり。たまには別の形の気動車に乗りたい。
From Sapporo Station, I used Hakodate main line to reach the town of Yoichi. There is a Express Train from Sapporo to Otaru. From Otaru, we need to take very local train. It was fun to me to take them.
余市駅。着いてみるとまた青空。ニッカウヰスキーの飾り樽が迎える。NHKの連ドラで舞台になって以来、観光客はまだまだ多いようだ。
Yoichi is known for a distillery of Nikka whisky.
しかしウィスキー蒸留所は街中に唐突に現れるお城みたいな外観で、正直心惹かれなかった。タクシーでもう少し離れたところにあるワイナリーに直行。
The distillery exist in the center of town. It was too crowded around there. I took taxi to go different place, Yoichi winery.
決して大きな施設ではない。樽部屋などちらちら見学して、備え付けのレストランで牛肉のワイン煮込みなど食べる。
It was a small place surrounded farms. Good to be there in a sunshiny day.
何のキャラクターだったのか。ネットで探してもちっともヒットしない。
They have strange mascot like any other place in Japan.
帰りのタクシーも呼んで、そのままぐるっと海のあたりを走ってもらう。
I asked the taxi driver to take me to the see.
奇岩だらけの景勝を眺め、また駅へ。日帰りの余市の旅はこれでおしまい。本数の割に与一も小樽も観光客が多いので、帰りの列車は座席に座れなかった。
He showed me many strange rocks in Yoichi coast.
で、札幌から夜行列車に乗る。

It was all to have half a day trip. Next day, I took night train to go back to Tokyo.
